Community Impact

Project summary

In its early years, NCC was spread across several locations throughout the city, gathering in a variety of spaces as the community continued to grow. A significant milestone came in 2019, when the historic Navy Yard Car Barn was fully renovated and reopened as Capital Turnaround. With that transition, the main worship service found a permanent home in a space that could finally reflect the scale, energy, and vision of the church.

At the heart of NCC’s identity is the far-reaching inspiration of Lead Pastor Mark Batterson, whose influence extends well beyond the pulpit. As a widely known author, his ideas resonate with people across the globe, shaping not only sermons but also the broader culture and mission of the church.

Anyone who has experienced an NCC service firsthand will understand the impact of this combination of place, message, and leadership. The most recent service I attended, titled “Gradually Then Suddenly,” was a powerful example of how NCC weaves storytelling, faith, and momentum into an experience that lingers long after the final song.

His statement was:

Have you ever wondered what truly creates lasting impact in our lives and in God’s Kingdom? Pastor Mark unveils the power of “constant use” through compelling stories of Jackie Robinson, a dedicated cellist, and a determined baseball player who took 700,000 practice swings. Drawing from Hebrews 5, he reveals how spiritual maturity isn’t mystical—it’s mundane faithfulness transformed by God’s grace. Whether it’s prayer, Bible study, or character growth, Pastor Mark shows how daily disciplines unlock extraordinary transformation. Don’t miss this practical guide to sustainable spiritual growth that will revolutionize your walk with God. Watch now to discover how small, consistent steps lead to profound spiritual breakthroughs.
A look at NCC’s history and vision reveals dreams that are actively lived out.

A Church Born from a Dream

National Community Church was birthed on January 14, 1996, and we were compelled by dreams that the church belonged in the middle of the marketplace, the church should be the most creative place on the planet, the church should live missionally outside its four walls, and the church should be the most diverse place on the planet.
For the past two decades, National Community Church has expressed those dreams by launching locations, planting new churches, starting kingdom-minded businesses and engaging creatively in cultural renewal. However, we know we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us and live in the blessings of answered prayers of those who prayed before us. That’s what led us to launch the Dream Collective on January 14, 2022. We want to help plant new churches, launch kingdom businesses, create better cultural goods, and bring God-ordained innovation to the problems of our generation.

Dreams in Action

Stories of impact from our Dream Fund range from providing beautiful videography that captured the social impact of a local bakery, to coming alongside a non-profit dedicated to supporting the health & wellness of firefighters, to launching many church-planters-in-residence to start a congregation in a new community. Real people. Real stories. Real dreams.
We are so grateful for what God did in 2024 through the Dream Collective—and through you. Your generosity, prayers, and partnership have been a catalyst for change, a spark for revival, and a foundation for future generations. This year, we launched into dreams that only God could have inspired and accomplished. Together, we:

  • Gathered dreamers and believers at the Dream Revival, a sacred moment of hunger and hope, where we saw fresh anointing for kingdom imagination poured out.
  • Renewed our vision at the Renew Conference, welcoming artists, entrepreneurs, pastors, and cultural influencers to explore the intersection of gospel and culture.
  • Completed our first Dream Collective Pastors Cohort, walking alongside 12 pastors from across the nation as they leaned into God-sized dreams for their communities.
  • Empowered emerging leaders through the Dream Fellows program, raising up a new generation of dreamers who will be repairers of broken walls and restorers of streets with dwellings.
  • Sowed seeds of impact by giving to initiatives beyond our name—redemptive ventures that bring heaven to earth in places we may never see but deeply care about.

We as deister electronic USA are very proud and grateful that we can support the work of the Dream Fund.
Each of these milestones is more than a line in a report; it is a living, breathing testimony of God’s faithfulness and your investment in dreams that ripple into eternity. As we close this year, I want to thank you for being part of this story. Your gifts to the Dream Fund have not only sustained this movement but multiplied its reach. You have planted seeds that will bear fruit in nations and generations to come. But the dream is not finished. As we look to the future, we are praying bold prayers and dreaming even bigger dreams. We invite you to continue this journey with us. Let’s press forward together—dreaming, building, giving, and believing for even greater things.

Thank you for dreaming with us!
