The driver waits, dispatch gets a call, and the route starts late. Burning time and money.

Know who has every vehicle key — without a sign-out sheet
Electronic key cabinets release vehicle keys only to the drivers you authorize, and log every removal and return automatically. Keys still come out when the power and the network are down.

The pegboard works right up until it doesn't
Do you know the following situations?
proxSafe® can take the guesswork out of key management.
Work out your own number.
- What does an hour of downtime cost you, multiplied by the times a key went missing last quarter?
- What did your last fob replacement and reprogram cost, parts and labor?
- How many hours a week does someone spend chasing keys and reconstructing who had what?
Most fleets find the third one is the largest and the one nobody had been counting.
Four easy steps, and the record writes itself
1. Tag your keys

Every vehicle key goes on a sealed RFID keyTag. The tag can't be moved to a different key without destroying it, so the record always refers to the key it says it does.
2. Identify

At the terminal, drivers identify themselves
3. Only their slots release

The slots a driver is authorized for light up and unlock. Everything else stays locked. Authorization can follow shift, role or assignment.
4. The log writes itself

Commander Connect records every removal and return with name, key and time. Overdue keys are flagged.

FAQ
The questions fleet managers ask first
What happens when the power goes out?
The cabinets keep working. Keys release and return normally through a power outage and through a network outage, and the events sync when the connection comes back. Nobody stands in front of a dead cabinet at 5 a.m.
What if someone doesn't bring a key back?
Overdue keys are flagged in Commander Connect and can be reported automatically, so you find out at the end of the shift rather than at the start of the next one.
Can a driver take the wrong key?
Only the slots they're authorized for unlock. The authorized slot also lights up, so in a cabinet with hundreds of keys they find theirs without hunting.
Can the tag be moved to another key?
No. The keyTag is sealed to the key ring and can't be removed without destroying it, which is what makes the record defensible.
What if a key is lost with the tag still on it?
The log shows who had it last and when. The question stops being who had it and becomes where it went, which is a much shorter conversation.
Can a driver take more than one key at a time?
Yes. Authorization is set per slot, so a driver can be cleared for one key, a group, or everything in the cabinet. Panels can also be configured to hold key rings rather than single keys.
How much training does a driver need?
None in practice. They badge in and the slot they're authorized for lights up. The first time someone uses it, they use it correctly.
