Savings from streamlined processes in event management

The Bremer Joke Event AG is renting exhibition and event equipment. They drive to about 1.000 events and happenings around Germany and Europe each year to deliver event equipment. The central warehouse in Bremen is storing all items that are needed for the organization of all kind of events. To systemize the management of the equipment an RFID-based solution has been implemented. They have now been using several ISO 18000-6 C EPC Class1 Gen 2 transponders suitable for metallic surfaces for identification.

Solution:

• Cases are tagged with UHF EPC Class1 Gen2 transponders inside
• Installation of UHF gates, each with two  UDL 500 readers from deister electronic
• Connection to the ERP program (goods economy)
• Time recording, load check, operator registration (every employee identifies themselves by an UHF transponder card for loading)
• Display by traffic lights (positive / negative)
• A motion recognizing device is involved for automated goods acquisition (inbound / outbound )
• UHF handhelds assists in commissioning of goods

They are already optimizing the paths for the outsourcing. During the loading phase onto the lorry  the product is passing an RFID- gate. Through the transponders and UHF readers it is automatically checked, whether they loaded it onto the right lorry, whether the rental items were loaded completely and whether the loading capacity of the lorry is met. The mobile tool accompanies the rental items to the event, so that when unloading it is also identified and documented.
