Correctional facility Celle - security
The correctional facility Celle uses innovative RFID technology for maximum security
The prison Salinenmoor is a division of the correctional facility Celle. Over 200 prison guards are working in shifts here. To ensure a maximum level of security, keys must not leave the prison area. So far the security staff at the gates was responsible for the automatic and quick return of keys, which was very time consuming. deister's key management system proxSafe relieves the security staff and increases security at the same time. The safekeeping system pillar S14 with a total number of 176 compartments can be operated simultaneously on two terminals. In addition each compartment is equipped with a slit of a letter-box for the distribution of internal post. To meet all security requirements, the prison staff is using their existing HID- transponder cards for identification at the C4 terminal. proxSafe guarantees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week a fast and automatic issue and return of keys, even at times of increased use during change of shifts. All key movements are safely stored in the database and terminal, and are thus always traceable (up to 7.000 events in the ring memory). At any time the security staff has total control over the assignment of each single compartment. Log files are available within seconds. The proxSafe compartment system can easily be extended, reorganised or installed at another location. The large memory of the terminal makes the system very reliable. Even in cases of power failure the power management of the terminal ensures that the proxSafe system keeps working. The advantages of deister's electronic key management system are obvious: staff is relieved, security increased and operating costs reduced.
