The protec service GmbH - proxSafe flexx

The protec service GmbH manages their keys electronically from now on

Local and global security is one of the central topics in today's society. The protec service GmbH offers a comprehensive range of services to business and private clients, public institutions and operators in the areas of security, cleaning and facility management. Through the support of major customers such as the Expo 2000, public transport and the AWD Arena in Hanover, experience and solutions have been optimized since founding the head- quarter ÜSTRA back in 1997 and the simultaneous start as a security service provider for the Hanover public transport. Observation of current developments and regular staff training keep the existing knowledge of this moderny facility  always up to date.

Task:
So far, at duty start the protec employees had to manually enter themselves into a signature book before they were able to take, for example, a cleaning vehicle. The RFID technology saves time and searching for keys gets eliminated."We had planned to centralize our key management and free up the people in charge from the time-consuming  key retrievals and returns”, says Stefan Jagodzinski, who is looking after the proxSafe system at protec.

Solution:
Since June 2010 the protec uses a key managment system from deister electronic. The metal key cabinet proxSafe flexx was installed in the sitting room of the protec employees in Hanover-Döhren and manages the key retrieval. Where the vehicles of the facility management sectors are parked, the key issuing is managed centrally since summer 2010. The employees of protec will now receive the keys by holding their RFID technology cards in front of the terminal of the safe-like cabinet. Depending on the authorization (the employee's shift and task) the keys the employee is allowed to take are assigned in the proxSafe commander software. If the employee holds the card in front of the cabinet´s terminal, the cabinet opens and a light shows which slot holds the key the employee wants to take. The other keys are firmly anchored by a holding device in the cabinet, so they can not be removed by unauthorized persons.

Advantages:
If the shift is over, the system automatiically checks if the keys have been returned. "If at the end of the day a key is missing, the software informs me via email so I can ask the employee who has the missing key why he did not return it properly," explains Stefan Jagodzinski. During the three month trial period the security system was liked that much by the employees and managers that the cabinet capacity of 64 slots had to be expanded. proxSafe key management systems from deister electronic are the ideal solution to extend security concepts - useful and affordable.
The functionality via RFID technology ensures that used keyTags do not get in contact with electronics. Wear and tear of the slots is technically impossible. deister electronic is a leading global provider of electronic solutions for industrial and safety engineering for more than 30 years.

Thanks to RFID technology, the old signature books are a thing of the past
