The automated identification with RFID speeds up the data and goods flows and raises the productivity of companies.

Globalization is the increased new challenge in the international competition world. These requirements also provide an opportunity: if companies adjust operations accordingly and modernize, they can continue to meet the changed environment and therefore increase the efficiency and productivity today and reduce costs.

IT-enabled business processes do not only promote higher productivity, but also improve customer services - what is also an important factor in order to remain competitive.

As part of value-added activities the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology takes place for use in logistics and tracking of goods in the international supply chain.

Thanks to the non-contact wireless technology objects can be automatically identified and located without any visual contact within seconds. Within the production and logistics industry RFID is an important part of the automation.

The workflow can be optimized and therefore is faster.

The packaging specialist richter & heß has grown dynamically since it's foundation in 1990 in Chemnitz. “By moving into our new facility, we wanted to get our complete logistics warehouse up to date," says Holger Neuber, managing director of richter & heß packaging service. RFID-driven processes help you to have at any time and anywhere an overview of current inventories, retention and turnover of the goods. The resulting transparency brings significant benefits to businesses and consumers: less capital investment, rapid delivery and high inventory accuracy. By now all 2,200 pallets are fitted with EPC / RFID transponders. In the new warehouse all the goods are automatically captured with the help of RFID technology, the staff always have an overview of the current stock. One component is the UHF RFID reader UDL 120 from deister electronic. It is mounted directly to the industrial lorry. The RFID reader on the forklift will ensure that the correct storage area is controlled and the right pallet is being outsourced. The acquisition of goods is therefore possible without interrupting the counting process. The modular reader system is easy to retrofit. The reader communication with the ERP / WMS system happens quickly and safely via a corresponding driver terminal. "A clear indication of the success of the project, in addition to the improved transparency, is the significant increase in performance in the storage place. Since converting the processes onto RFID monthly stock turnover has almost doubled - and that is with the same number of employees.
