AL-KO KOBER AG - logident, UDL 50, UDL 500
Automated Goods entry-/exit optimization of production processes
Founded as a locksmith, the AL-KO KOBER AG is today a global industrial company. The optimization of logistics creates competitive advantages. AL-KO together with the B & M Auto-ID Systems GmbH and deister electronic GmbH has taken up this task to provide an innovative RFID project. In a first step the incoming and outgoing goods should be automatically and continuously monitored and recorded. With help of the proof of concept (POC) the work correspondence between the two locations Wittenberg and Jettingen-Scheppach has been optimized using RFID technology.
The RFID gate solution of deister electronic comes with four UDL 500 readers to a DCU per location. The housing components for large air conditioners are going to be assembled into kits in Wittenberg. A delivery note bag is marked by the on metal deister tag. This tag is described with the UDL 50, which is controlled directly from the SAP. The truck drives through the deister gate before the pallets are loaded onto the truck. It is automatically detected, what and which case kits were loaded. The data is transmitted directly into the AL-KO SAP system. SAP generates a packing slip and then sends the shipping automatically to the office in Jettingen-Scheppach, where according to the expected housing parts, the production is going to be planned. During unloading of the truck in Jettingen-Scheppach, the product is again passed through a gate and data is recorded and posted in SAP immediately. Thus the work of preparation receives the information about the goods just in time. Timely bookings enable better production planning.
